About The Benison

It was all a dream.

The Benison began as a dream – a dream to open an event center. After stumbling upon The Historic Home Federal Bank, located at 100 South Third Street in downtown Hamilton, Ohio - the owners fell in love with the details of the history, architecture, and location. It was the perfect setting in which to host parties, weddings, and meetings.

In envisioning the space, they chose to highlight the vaulted ceilings and exquisite details of the old bank while adding bathrooms, opening up the spaces, and renovating flooring. Construction began in late 2018 and doors opened in May, 2019.

The name "Benison" is derived from the Latin word benedictio which means 'to bless.' The word Benison has been traced back to the 14th century as a spoken blessing. It fits the dream the owners have for this event and coworking center – to be a blessing to each person who gathers there, whether to celebrate, get married, work, learn, or support.
